The best thing about Kindle Unlimited: There are so many fantasy books!
The WORST thing about Kindle Unlimited: There are SO MANY fantasy books!!
Don't get me wrong, I love my Kindle Unlimited subscription. As fast as I go through fantasy novels, I'd probably be bankrupt without it.
But sometimes it's a slog to wade through all the books that don't match my taste, to find the gems that do.
What I'm looking for:
- Sword & sorcery medieval fantasies, not too dark (a little darkness is fine).
- Not romantasy (again, a bit is fine, just romance shouldn't be the main point).
- Not explicitly LitRPG, progression, etc. (I like my fantasy classic, not force-fit to a formula).
- Magical creatures are always a plus!
Here are some recent releases on KU that look intriguing to me. Maybe they will to you, too.

"A weapon of ancient power now lies within reach — a force capable of ending the War Eternal at last. Yet it remains beyond them, for the one who can wield it is nowhere to be found."

"The last ballad of hope has been heard again. A song thought buried. A promise thought broken. A few brave souls have dared to stand against evil. A curse plaguing generations has finally shattered. What of it?"

"Embark on a cozy fantasy tale of found family and quiet mysteries. A quaint quest to find the place that feels like home and the ones who make it so. A journey filled with self-discovery and new romance. From cloaks and daggers to mugs and flagons …"

"A son lost. A father forged by lightning. A war that has only begun."

"A Plague of Divinity! When Minalan summoned humanity’s gods to support him in his negotiations with the aquatic Vundel, it was an impressive feat . . . but the gods did not merely fade away afterwards."

"Vael Tor Arne, commonly known as the Butcher of Leif, has spent the last ten years roaming the wilds of Surosha. Disgraced and outcast, he is not welcome anywhere, not even in his own home."
Quotes are from the book descriptions on Amazon.
Happy Fourth, and happy reading!
